Ministry Of Interior Informs To Recognize Permanent Residence Permits For Immigrants.

Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Interior has once again informed the Ministries, Sub-National Administration Institutions and the private sector to recognize permanent residence permits for foreigners and immigrants in the Kingdom of Cambodia after mentioning that some institutions are not yet aware of and don’t know the value of using this card.

In a statement issued on Monday, August 29, 2022, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Interior, General Por Pheak, found that although the Ministry of Interior had issued instructions and disseminated many times, it still observed that there were still ministries and institutions, some sub-national administrations and the private sector have not yet recognized the value of using a permanent residence permit.

"The Ministry of Interior would like to inform the ministries, sub-national administrative institutions and the private sector to recognize the permanent residence permit for foreigners, immigrants in the Kingdom of Cambodia and make it in accordance with the law in force," said Por Pheak.

According to General Por Pheakkei, permanent residence permits issued to immigrants have been promulgated in the Immigration Law since September 1994 to provide some immigrants with daily necessities such as applying for administrative services, public services, health services, banking services, buying and selling real estate, doing business, applying for work in factories, enterprises and some other activities that the law allows for foreigners.
